Friday’s Day of Service

Friday was a day of service for volunteers from across America. 65 volunteers including Lisa Huston, Nona Miles, Marla Prete Spadaccino, Luis Pabon and Stan Boyes from Connecticut helped to paint two homes for Las Vegas’s Habitat for Humanity.  They boarded a charter bus at 7:30 a.m. for the ride out to the site. After words of encouragement from Miss America Ericka Dunlap, Katie Shindle and Bebe Shoppe Waring, we were handed our hard hats and paint brushes and in 4 hours managed to completely prime the inside and outside of one of the homes. The volunteers accomplished in four hours what would normally take 5 days.
